A short purchasing process is the most desired need in the insurance market today. We wanted a full motor insurance quote based only on the vehicle registration number and the owner’s date of birth.

This allows the customer to quickly and easily find out what the insurer’s offer is. He does not have to enter other data , because it is automatically completed by our proprietary tool – BrokerUFG.

In the case study, we share the details of the implemented solution and the results that were achieved by introducing the leader of the European insurance market to the Polish market.

Our client is part of an international conglomerate that is a top-rated company according to the ATX index, an index of the largest companies on the Vienna Stock Exchange. It is an insurance leader in Central Europe and Central and Eastern Europe, which includes dozens of companies in various countries. In 2021, it was awarded for building a fully digital insurance company and for the ambitious scope and exceptional speed of the project. Our client is the first in the market to offer a BrokerUFG solution in the direct channel.

For the client, the timing of the implementation was crucial – the new brand wanted to integrate as quickly as possible with the UFG, as this determined when it could start selling insurance on the Polish market.

The insurer wanted to simplify the sales process so that the full motor insurance offer is verified only on the basis of the vehicle owner’s date of birth and registration number. As a result, the customer instantly obtains a comprehensive insurance offer tailored to his needs and requirements.

Our solution had to meet the following expectations of the insurance company:

  • Automating the bidding process in the online channel,
  • A decisive shortening of the end customer’s purchase path,
  • Reducing the time required to handle inquiries,
  • Using only customer parameters such as vehicle registration number and date of birth of the owner for the entire sales process.

To achieve its goals, Makeitright used its proprietary BrokerUFG solution to gather detailed vehicle and holder data based on the registration number alone.
BrokerUFG is a unique product on the Polish market, which acts as a centralized data repository and enables automatic reporting and online cooperation with the Insurance Guarantee Fund. Thanks to this, the data on the basis of which the offer is created is always true and up-to-date.

In this way, the insurance company can retrieve data on the vehicle and its owner, and then provide the customer with a customized quote in a relatively short period of time.

Among other things, the solution uses access to data from the Central Register of Vehicles and Drivers (CEPIK 2.0). This data enriches the customer and vehicle profile needed for the tariffing of a traffic policy.

Makeitright went through a series of procedures to obtain a positive decision from the Ministry of Digitization and provide access to the Central Register of Vehicles and Drivers (CEPIK 2.0) data. Our task was:

  • Developing an application to the Ministry of Digitization,
  • Preparation of test scenarios required,
  • Conducting acceptance workshops jointly with the Insurance Guarantee Fund.

The test scenarios are intended to show the Ministry of Digitization how the tool used by the insurance company uses the data, what happens to it after it is downloaded from CEPIK 2.0. Based on the test scenarios, the Ministry of Digitization could assess that the data downloaded by BrokerUFG from CEPIK 2.0 is safe (it is not in danger of being leaked, of breaking RODO laws, and that the tool is not used to drain the data of the Ministry of Crypto).

After preparing the test scenarios, Makeitright met with the Insurance Guarantee Fund. We presented the test scenarios and the process that the data downloaded from CEPIK 2.0 goes through. We created a report on the test scenarios and submitted it to the UFG for final approval.

For a new brand on the Polish market, we have launched a short sales process that allows the customer to get a full motor insurance quote in just about 60 seconds.

The short sale path has been implemented in the direct channel, which means that a person who wants insurance has the opportunity to go through the quoting process on his or her own. Until now, all interested parties had to contact an insurance agent, who is a representative of the company, give him or her their information, and then wait for the agent to calculate a quote that would suit their needs. The direct sales channel makes it possible to obtain a policy quote in a fast and revolutionary way – all the customer has to do is go to the portal, enter two parameters (date of birth and vehicle registration number) and get a customized full quote in 60 seconds.

Our client has become the first company in the market operating in the direct model to successfully obtain a positive decision from the Ministry of Digitization. As a result, the BrokerUFG solution handles the processes of cooperation with the UFG. It retrieves and interprets the data used in the tarification and loss adjustment processes, completes the missing data and sends it to UFG. In addition, we have expanded for our client the list of modules used to include police notes, which guarantee the brand access to better quality data for handling liquidation processes.

In a few months, a new brand on the market has built a digital distribution of OC/AC insurance, with an innovative premise: the customer has to provide a maximum of two pieces of information to know the price of the policy and make a purchase decision.
