Our BrokerUFG solution, which we offer in a SaaS service model, feeds data to the UFG online and enables automated responses to UFG inquiries.

As a well-established insurance company, Generali had a number of insurance systems – some of which came from acquired companies, some of which were owned by Generali and were in the process of data migration, and some of which were being implemented with a view to expanding offerings in the future.

Each insurance company has its own history with the Insurance Guarantee Fund (UFG). If a company has several systems, its data are kept independently of each other, even if they belong to one company.

Generali Poland is part of one of the largest global insurance and asset management companies. Founded in 1831, it now operates in 50 countries, serving more than 66 million customers who in 2020 concluded insurance contracts with Generali with a total value of more than €70 billion. Generali’s ambition is to be a partner for life for its customers. The company offers innovative and personalized solutions through an unparalleled distribution network.

Generali has been operating in Poland since 1998.  It provides its customers with comprehensive insurance coverage at every stage of their lives: from property insurance, such as car insurance, apartment insurance, and business insurance through life insurance, both individual and group, to pension and investment funds. Generali in Poland offers its insurance products under three brands. In addition to Generali, these include Proama, which offers a wide selection of property insurance, and Generali Agro, which specializes in insurance for agriculture.

In cooperation with Generali, we faced three major challenges.

Organizing the data reported to the UFG

Generali was working on six systems, which hindered effective reporting to the Insurance Guarantee Fund. In order to integrate the systems into one body, we first had to determine what data would be exchanged between Generali and UFG and what data was missing from the current systems.

Downloading data online

The implementation of the BrokerUFG solution was to enable the company to transfer data from the insurance system to the UFG online. So that the exchange of information between the two parties would be unattended.

Earning a high position in the UFG ranking

UFG publishes an annual ranking of the best insurance
companies in terms of data quality. In order for the company to rank high, we had to ensure the timeliness, completeness and unambiguity of the data submitted.

We carried out an alignment feed for Generali, that is, we compared data from the insurer’s systems with data in the UFG, and found and completed data on missing policies, claims and compensation. Makeitright’s implementation enabled Generali to move to an online UFG feed mechanism. BrokerUFG allows reporting of each policy to UFG on the same day. Previously, data was collected prepackaged and only then sent collectively. With BrokerUFG, claims and compensation data are also sent to UFG.

As part of the implementation, Makeitright unified data across all systems, gathered data from six systems into one, making the implementation of further functionality smooth and simple.

The UFG broker has taken on the role of a centralized data repository that handles reporting and cooperation with UFG. It has reduced the maintenance of archived data systems, reduced the complexity of the IT infrastructure and its costs.

The implementation of the UFG Broker has enabled the company to achieve a high position in quality indicators. Generali was among the leaders of insurance companies in the ranking published by UFG. In addition, the company benefited from the ability to automate responses to UFG inquiries.

The transparent integration model allows quick and easy connection of additional entities and reduces the time from their acquisition by Generali to full operational integration. Thanks to BrokerUFG’s built-in automation in the areas of provisioning, inquiries and cooperation, it reduces the labor-intensive tasks in maintaining and adapting the system to UFG requirements.

Client about the implementation

Thanks to the implementation of the BrokerUFG solution, we gained the ability to report policies to the UFG on the same day, which translated into high quality indicators in the UFG ranking. The project carried out by Makeitright translated into a reduction in IT infrastructure maintenance costs and allowed us to use its potential to develop other important areas of the company. BrokerUFG is the only solution that is available and ready in a service model on the Polish market.
